American Made Pen, LLC., the makers of fine writing instruments and accessories including the famous Battlefield Pens, was founded by Bob and Marion Woofter of Cortland, Ohio. Since its founding, American Made Pen, or AMP for short, has surged from a small garage operation producing just one pen per day to one which turns out hundreds per week through the combined efforts of a diverse team of skilled craftsmen, artists and staff. Its customer base has grown too, now encompassing tens of thousands of regular folks but also including US Senators, Congressmen, Governors, NATO officials, US military personnel (from freshly enlisted men and women to the very top echelons of all branches) to even popular Hollywood stars (think “Gunny”, for one).

    And to think it almost never happened.

    As Bob recalls, it all started when he went into the local cafe one morning for coffee. In his shirt pocket was an ink pen which he had made in his workshop the night before, the first Patriot Pen. By the time he left he had orders for two more and by the end of the week was garnering orders for dozens more. “Everyone remarked how they had never seen anything my pens before. I couldn’t make them quick enough”.

    An important key to the pen’s popularity is linked to the company philosophy: AMP pens will always be US made, never foreign made, and each and every cartridge used in every pen will have been fired by our own US soldiers.
